TypeNod is an input method: you type in English, Spanish, French or Chinese Pinyin in any text field, and a small panel under the cursor shows the translation as you go. Press Return (or Space for Pinyin) to put the translation in place of what you typed, Tab to switch between original and translation. Translation runs on Apple's on-device models, after you download the language packs once.
